At last week’s Safer Sex in the City event, I had the chance to sit down and talk dirty with noted sex blogger and advice columnist, JaYme WaXman. Below, my findings:

Q: Why is this cause important to you?
A: Well I’m a sex educator and I want to continue to make the world a better and more comfortable place to have good sex.

Q: I know that you’re a big fan of latex, so what is you preferred type of condom?
A: My absolute favorite condom, across the board (for oral sex or penetration) is the Lifestyles Kiss of Mint. It has a minty flavor and it’s not one of those minty flavors that makes you want to puke, it’s one that you can really suck on for a long time.

Q: When did you first begin to truly understand the importance of practicing safe sex?
A: I actually was practicing safe sex with my first sexual partner because I was nervous about everything and anything. And then as I got older and I “loosened up” so to speak in so many ways, I realized that it was something that I had to not only teach myself again and talk about with my community of friends.

Q: When people ask you for that one sex tip that will really put their sex life over the edge, what do you tell them?
A: Number 1 - ENTHUSIASM. I mean, if you do not want to be there, no matter how hard you fake it, you're faking it.
Number 2 - EYE CONTACT. If you don’t engage in eye contact with your partner, then your partner starts to wonder what’s going on, and you start to seem very distant.
Number 3 – TOUCH. Don’t just touch the genitals. It’s nice and it feels good, but touch everywhere, like the inner thighs, ear lobes, neck, hair. I think sex for so many people is more than one certain technique it’s a whole event – an experience – even if it’s a quickie! It’s still an experience!

Have your say in the forum: How do you practice Safe Sex?

With the popularity of Rock Band and Guitar Hero, how long before air guitarists are nabbing hot groupies? What about Playmates? Hiromi Oshima (June 2004) and Janine Habeck (Sept 2006) were special guests at the 2008 Cuervo Black US Air Guitar Championships presented by TouchTunes giving contestants another reason to shred harder.

Here they are with "The Guitarsonist" who claimed to be from Shredinngburg, Germany. Janine remarked that his accent was pretty good, she should know being one of our Teutonic bunnies. Like most of the contestants, he was not messing around. He came armed with enough t-shirts, buttons and other branded gear to make Gene Simmons proud.

The Playmates got VIP views of the action seated next to celebrity judges Greg Proops and Jeff Davis from Whose Line is it Anyway? and Flight of the Conchords Bret McKenzie.

Later we asked Hiromi about the sexiness of the contestants. She said, "I didn't think it's about being sexy. It's about performance." Good answer given what some of these guys looked like.

Just when you thought that rock was dead, hometown faux-rock legend "Ricky Stinkfingers" dances across an illusionary fret board, meticulously hitting every note as the room explodes with as if it were Halen himself. Accompanied by the smell of pot, booze, leather, and sweaty headbands; this would be the scene at the 2008 US Air Guitar Championships in San Francisco California. For those of you who may not be familiar with the world of competitive air guitar, it is a phenomenon that may leave you a little bewildered.

Out of the 1970's basements of the mid-west where stoned teenagers pretended to rip heavy metal solos on their imaginary Gibson Flying V guitar came the birth of the Air Guitar. Now some 30 years later, Air Guitar has left the basement and emerged on the world platform.

The rules of this air guitar contest are pretty straight forward; each contestant was given one minuet to get on stage and deliver their air guitar performance to a song of there choice. Following the act, they were given a score out of 6.0 based on technical merit, stage presence, and "airness". Airness, a subjective term which attempts to quantify how much the performance was a piece of art rather than just someone pretending to strum a guitar. After all the contestants perform, the top 5 highest scores go on to the second round where the finalists are given a pre selected song for an impromptu performance. It is during this final stage where we learn who possesses the most "air".

After the first round of electrifying performances the judges had picked the final five air guitarists to advance to round two. Although there were five, the crowd knew that this contest was either going to one of two contestants; it was between 42 year old Kurt Brown "SHREAD NUGENT" and 31 Alex Knowl "Shred Begley Jr". After an impromptu performance to an anonymous Foo Fighters song, Begley Jr. sporting a shirt which spelled "AWSOME" would be just that and out-score Shread Nugent to claim victor.

As the night concluded; contestants, judges and some of the crowd would rush the stage for an air guitar orgy to "free bird". As dozens of rock star wannabe's mouthed every lyric and fought their way to the front of the stage the night would come to an end.
